Canadian Rocker Bryan Adams’ Delhi concert is cancelled

Canadian Rocker Bryan Adams’ Delhi concert is cancelled: Fans of the Canadian rocker Bryan Adams in Delhi are sure to be disappointed as his concert, to be held today, has been canceled.

Adams has himself, put the update on this twitter account, saying “Police have canceled the New Delhi concert tonight due to public safety...”.

Earler in the day Bryan was still hopleful that the concert would take place, and had tweeted saying, "I'm in New Delhi waiting to hear from the police about the concert. As far as I'm concerned the show is ON - we're 100% here for the fans".

Adams was to perform at the NSIC exhibition ground in Okhla, South Delhi, but the police has denied permission for the concert. A sellout crowd of about 20,000 were expected to attend the concert.

“We have denied permission for the concert because of security concerns. The place chosen to organise the concert is not suitable for this kind of a programme,” a senior police official is quoted as saying by a news agency.

The police claims that the organizers of the show have sold more tickets than the capacity of the ground which can cater to only 6,000 people at a time. Moreover, complimentary passes too have been issued for VVIPs.
